Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Axel Tap ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our digital business card platform (the "Service"). We are committed to handling your data responsibly and transparently.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), and — where you provide it — country, date of birth, time zone, and preferred language.
- Card content: the details you add to your business cards (title, company, phone, links, photo, logo, etc.).
- Usage & analytics: card views, interactions, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type, and a hashed IP address for abuse prevention.
- Payment data: processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
2. How we use your data
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- To display your public business cards to visitors you share them with;
- To process payments and manage your subscription;
- To send transactional email (verification, receipts, security) and — with consent — product updates;
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
3. Legal bases
We process personal data to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, and — where applicable — with your consent (which you may withdraw at any time).
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the Service (hosting, email delivery, payment processing) under appropriate safeguards, or where required by law. Content you publish on a public card is, by design, visible to anyone with the link.
5. Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data, except where retention is required by law.
6. Your rights
Subject to your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage most of this from your account settings, or contact us for assistance.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.
8. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where it is, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection.
9. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the Service or email.
